What is the difference between drywall and plaster?
Drywall is a panel made of gypsum that is installed over studs to create walls and ceilings, while plaster is a more traditional method that involves applying multiple layers of wet material over a surface. Drywall is quicker and more cost-effective to install, whereas plaster is more durable and allows for smoother or decorative finishes.

How long does it take to install drywall?
The time required for drywall installation depends on the size and complexity of the project. A single room can take a few days, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and priming. Larger projects or those requiring specialty finishes may take longer.
Do you offer both residential and commercial drywall services?
Yes! We provide drywall installation, finishing, and repairs for both residential homes and commercial properties, including offices, retail spaces, hotels, and more.
What are the different levels of drywall finishing?
A: There are five levels of drywall finishing:
• Level 1: Joints covered with tape and one coat of compound (typically for hidden areas like attics).
• Level 2: A second coat of compound is applied (suitable for areas that will be covered with tile).
• Level 3: A third coat is applied for medium-texture wall finishes.
• Level 4: A smooth finish with additional coats (ideal for walls receiving flat paint or light textures).
• Level 5: The highest-quality finish, including a skim coat over the entire surface for an ultra-smooth appearance.
What is the best type of drywall for moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens?
Moisture-resistant drywall, also known as green board or cement board, is best for areas with high humidity. For extreme moisture exposure, cement board is recommended, especially in shower areas.
How do I know if my drywall needs to be repaired or replaced?
Minor damage such as small holes, cracks, or dents can be repaired with patching and refinishing. However, if the drywall has significant water damage, mold growth, or large cracks indicating structural issues, replacement may be necessary.
What causes cracks in drywall?
Drywall cracks can be caused by several factors, including foundation settling, temperature fluctuations, improper installation, or structural movement. Small cracks can be repaired, but recurring cracks may indicate a more serious issue.
How do I fix a hole in my drywall?
Small holes can be patched with spackle or joint compound. Larger holes may require a drywall patch or replacement piece secured with joint tape and compound before sanding and painting.
Can water-damaged drywall be repaired, or does it need to be replaced?
Slight water damage can sometimes be dried out and repaired, but if the drywall is soft, swollen, or growing mold, it should be replaced to prevent health and structural issues.
What are the benefits of plaster over drywall?
Plaster is more durable, provides better soundproofing, and allows for decorative textures and finishes. While it takes longer to apply than drywall, it creates a more refined and long-lasting surface.
Can you match the existing texture on my walls or ceiling?
Yes! Our skilled team can match existing textures, whether it’s knockdown, orange peel, Venetian plaster, or other custom finishes
Is plaster repair different from drywall repair?
Yes. Plaster repair often involves stabilizing loose plaster, filling cracks with special materials, and applying multiple layers for a seamless finish, whereas drywall repair is usually done with joint compound and patches.
